ITT Introduction

Teaching is one of the most rewarding careers you can choose; you will change lives, inspire young minds and educate the future custodians of our world.

The Nucleus Teaching School Network is passionate  about recruiting the highest quality candidates into our region and to train and support them into becoming excellent teachers and leaders for our young people. We are committed to a shared and continuous drive to interest, inform and ultimately recruit high calibre individuals to one of our known training programmes. We offer primary and secondary School Direct salaried and training non-salaried places in conjunction with a number of providers to provide a personalised programme, delivered by excellent classroom practitioners.

Our partner schools have been involved in delivering quality teacher training for many years and have invaluable experience of working with a range of SCITTs and HEI providers. We have experience in contributing to the design and delivery of proven and leading edge ITT programmes.

There are may different pathways to get into teaching, and The Nucleus Teaching School Network works closely with a range of partners including The Cambridge Teaching Schools Network, The Suffolk and Norfolk SCITT, University of Cambridge and the University of Befordshire.

One pathway into teaching is a School Direct route; these are teacher training programmes of study that have been developed in partnership between schools and accredited providers. PGCE and QTS, or QTS only options are available via this route depending on the subject you wish to teach and the awarding accredited provider.

Further information regarding the different routes into teaching can be found on the Teach in Cambs website or the Get Into Teaching website.
